Performing artists from many fields use the Technique to improve performance, help prevent and rehabilitate injuries, and obtain greater poise and presence. The Technique gives them an improved awareness of habitual movement patterns and responses to stress and a way to interrupt these habitual patterns to redirect themselves to the best performance of which they are capable. It provides a way to manage stage fright directing the associated nervous energy into the performance.
The Technique is taught at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, all the major music and drama colleges throughout the United Kingdom including The Royal College of Music in London, and many in North America including the Juilliard School of Performing Arts in New York.
