Every aspect of Panthea’s professional life has been influenced and enriched by the Alexander Technique. Her vocal technique coaching is consistently infused with the principles of alignment and body use so attentively addressed by Alexander. As a performer Panthea credits the Alexander Technique as the system of training the most influential in her relationship to her body use. Hand in hand with consistent warm up and knowledge of vocal technique, Panthea credits the Alexander technique with giving her the knowledge to work injury free and give consistently dynamic performances without strain. Panthea was fortunate to be introduced to the Alexander Technique when she was 19 years old and has had the pleasure of experiencing the instruction of several teachers over many years including visiting the training school of Mary Holland in Germany, and working in Canada with Gwen Dobie, Johanne Benoit, Suzanne Finger, Gian Carlo Rizzo, and Bob Westerholm.
A singer, performer and actor, Panthea has 10 years of professional performance experience as a multidisciplinary artist with credits in opera, musical theatre, rock, circus, television and movies. Professionally trained at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and Banff Centre for the Arts, Panthea also has hundreds of hours of street performance credits across Canada.
As a professional vocal coach Panthea's vocal technique coaching is informed by 20 years of voice and stage training. Uniting the power of classical 'bel canto' technique with the needs of modern performers Panthea's coaching addresses the physiological as well as psychological patterns that limit free vocal expression. This creates vocals that are powerful, healthy, unique and reliable regardless of style.
