What happens in a lesson?
The Alexander Technique is taught through verbal and gentle hands-on instruction. Each lesson lasts about 45 – 50 minutes allowing for 10 – 15 minutes to transition between lessons. A typical lesson will involve a brief discussion of your process in learning the Technique, hands-on instruction while sitting, standing, and carrying out simple activities. As you gain more experience, the activities may become more challenging, building towards your specific interest. Through this process you will first learn to carry out simple activities or movements with poise, and then to bring this newfound poise into your specific activities.
